ABOUT ME
The soprano Sophia Elisabeth Linden was born in Bonn. She joined the children's and youth choir at Bonn Theatre at the age of ten and made her first solo appearances, for example as Solveig in Grieg's Peer Gynt, First Servant in Arriaga's The Arabian Princess and Princess in Ravel's The Child and the Magic Haunting. Sophia received singing lessons from baritone Mark Morouse, who prepared her for the aptitude test at the Cologne University of Music and Dance (HfMT). From the 2014/15 winter semester, she studied singing with Professor Thomas Piffka at the HfMT in Aachen. Sophia completed her Master's degree in January 2022 with top marks. From February 2018 to February 2019, she was a scholarship holder of the WDR Rundfunkchor choir academy. From April to October 2019, she was an academy member of the Rundfunkchor Berlin. Sophia regularly sings as a freelancer in both ensembles, as well as with the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin since summer 2022. Through her work with these first-class choirs, Sophia has already worked with important conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Kirill Petrenko, Daniel Barenboim, Kent Nagano and Sir Simon Rattle. She is also active in the choir and as a soloist with the Süddeutscher Kammerchor. Sophia has been a choral soloist at the Komische Oper Berlin since the 2021/2022 season. There she sang a Jenny Girl in Barry Kosky's production of Weill's Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny. In addition to opera, she is also interested in art song and concert singing. With her duo partner Tobias Koltun (piano), Sophia regularly gives recitals and performs as a soloist at church concerts, weddings and church services.
